Minutes

A meeting of the Finance, Taxation and Personnel Committee was held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Govt Center, Rm H @ 4:30 P.M. with the following members present:

Ottery – 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Klawitter – 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Farrell – 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Goldsmith – 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Schneider – excused

Sensenbrenner – 4:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Also present: Allen Buechel, Karen Kuehl, Judeen Damm, Sam Tobias and Mike Marx (see citizen’s attendance sheet)

The meeting was called to order by Chair Ottery at 4:30 P.M.

Motion (Goldsmith/Farrell) to approve the minutes of the July 10, 2007 meeting. Motion carried.

Motion (Klawitter/Sensenbrenner) to approve the following bills. Motion carried.

Motion (Klawitter/Sensenbrenner) to approve the Cash on Hand (June, 2007) that was presented by Judeen Damm. Motion carried.

Memo pertaining to proposed fee increase for collecting first installment taxes for the City of Fond du Lac and the Village of North Fond du Lac – It is proposed to change the progression of charges for tax collection for Village of North Fond du Lac and City of Fond du Lac to $.07 per year for 5 years after the first year, which would be $.25.

Presentation of the 2006 Annual Financial Report was given by Mike Konecny, CPA, Partner, Schenck, S.C. Motion (Goldsmith/Farrell) to accept the Financial Report and refer it to the Board as a whole also. Motion carried.

The Finance, Taxation and Personnel Committee notes its appreciation of the high quality of work done by the Finance Department staff and county-wide personnel in the Fond du Lac County financial operations.

Motion (Farrell/Klawitter) to allow the request from the Veteran’s Service Office for transfer of funds between accounts. Motion carried.

Committee assignments, mileage and per diem – Reviewed communication and an answer will be given.

Update on Brownfields was given by Sam Tobias.

GIS position update – Ann Zdroik from North Dakota has accepted the position.

Update on the Portland Street building given by County Executive Allen Buechel.

Update on Health Care Center/ Rolling Meadows contract was given by Michael Marx.

Future meeting date: August 7, 2007 @ 4:30 p.m.

Future agenda items – Rolling Meadows contract and medical insurance.

Motion (Goldsmith/Farrell) to adjourn at 6:30 p.m. Motion carried.
