Also present were Tracy McDermott, Julie Hellwig and Bob Denslow. Katie Theyerl was excused.

 

1. Call meeting to order.

Brian Kolstad called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.

 

2. Approve minutes of the November 6, 2017, meeting.

Motion (Wood-Taylor/Winter) to approve the minutes. Motion carried.

 

3. Remarks by visitors/correspondence.

There were no remarks or correspondence.

 

4. Executive director report.

Tracy McDermott went over the December highlights. The movie “Green Fire” will be shown after the snowshoe hike on Jan. 20. Four Cub Scouts will be working on a badge on Feb. 25; Margie Winter and Ms. McDermott will be doing the program. The Greater Valley Guide inquired about advertising; the committee decided not to at this time.

 

5. Treasurer report.

Mr. Kolstad discussed the November and December report. He also went over the budget for 2018. Motion (Winter/Wood-Taylor) to accept the 2018 budget. Motion carried.

 

6. Education report.

Ms. Winter had no report. Katie Theyerl gave her letter of resignation. The education committee will discuss education programs for the 2018 season.

 

7. Grounds report.

Julie Hellwig discussed the December highlights. She talked about a statue in Helen’s garden.

 

8. Other business.

 

9. Future meeting dates.

a. General committee:  5:30 p.m., Feb. 5, Room AE136.

b. Education subcommittee:  5:30 p.m., Jan. 22, UW-Fond du Lac Commons.

c. Prairie Fest subcommittee:  to be determined.

 

10. Adjournment.

Motion (Giese-Kent/Wood-Taylor) to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 p.m. Motion carried.
