1. Call meeting to order.

Chair David Demezas called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m.


2. Approve minutes of the February 5, 2018, meeting.

Motion (Winter/Kolstad) to approve the minutes. Motion carried, 6-0.


3. Remarks by visitors/correspondence.

A couple would like to volunteer to clean out bluebird houses; Tracy McDermott will contact them. A Boy Scout troop wants to monitor the bluebird houses during the spring and summer months. Plant sale questions should be forwarded to Margie Winter.


4. Executive director report.

Ms. McDermott discussed the February highlights. Master Gardeners will have an educational event on May 19 and asked Gottfried if they’d like to have a table. Motion (Winter/Kolstad) to rent a table for $25 at the Master Gardener educational event on May 19. Motion carried, 6-0. The Browser Open is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18 at the Fond du Lac Public Library. A practice setup is scheduled at 4 p.m. on March 11; actual setup is at 4 p.m. on March 17. The Fond du Lac Area Foundation gave a verbal agreement on grants.


5. Treasurer report.

Brian Kolstad discussed the February report.  


6. Education report.

Ms. Winter discussed the February meeting minutes.


7. Grounds report.

Julie Hellwig discussed the February highlights. Committee members should tell her if they know of any individuals or groups who would be willing to clean benches or make new benches along the prairie trails.


8. Other business.

Ms. Winter discussed the annual prairie plant sale. Plant sale order forms can be found on the Gottfried website; the due date is March 30.


9. Future meeting dates.

a. General committee:  5:30 p.m., April 2, Room AE136.

b. Education subcommittee:  5:30 p.m., March 26, UW Commons.

c. Prairie Fest subcommittee:  following the March 26 education subcommittee meeting.


10. Adjournment.

Motion (Kolstad/Giese-Kent) to adjourn the meeting at 6:44 p.m. Motion carried, 7-0.
