Fond du Lac County Child Support Agency Recognized as “Agency of the Year”
The Fond du Lac County Child Support Agency has been recognized as the 2017 “Agency of the Year” by the Wisconsin Child Support Enforcement Association (WCSEA).
The award recognizes a county child support agency which, as a whole, enhances or strengthens the child support program through new and innovative ideas to increase efficiency and cost-saving measures.
The Fond du Lac County Child Support Agency has a long history of involvement in efforts to improve the child support program, including their work with Social Services on the pilot program Work Not Welfare in the early 1990s. Today, Fond du Lac County is one of the pilot agencies for a new DocGen replacement and WIKiDS.
As noted in the nomination submission, the staff hold pre-trial meetings to find solutions before a court hearing, which can save court time and service fees. Agency staff have set up processes to avoid overpayments and adjustments to child support orders, while still maintaining crucial contact with customers.
The Fond du Lac County Child Support Agency is the only large county in the state of Wisconsin that meets all performance standards and has received twelve previous awards for excellence, outstanding performance, and most improved program.
The “Agency of the Year” award was presented to Fond du Lac County staff at the Fall WCSEA Conference in Wisconsin Rapids.
