Also present was Sandy Tryon.

 

1. Call meeting to order.
Chair Skog called the meeting to order at 4 p.m.

 

2. Selection of officers.

Motion (Meyer/Olm) to reelect Don Skog for chair. Motion carried. Motion (Geiger/Olm) to reelect Lori Meyer for vice chair. Motion carried.

 

3. Approve minutes of the November 26, 2018, meeting.

Motion (Meyer/Skog) to approve the minutes. Motion carried.

 

4. Members of the public who wish to address the committee on specific agenda items must register their requests at this time, with such comments subject to the reasonable control of the committee chair, as set forth in “Robert’s Rules of Order.” 

There was no public comment.

 

5. Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) report.

Sandy Tryon reported on several programs that will be offered to the Fond du Lac community:

 

The Senior Expo Council has scheduled three senior expos that will feature exhibitors, entertainment, presentations, activities, food and more. The free programs offered to the public will be held:

      May 7 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center

      May 15 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Wayland Academy Field House, Beaver Dam

      Oct. 3 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Central Wisconsin Christian School, Waupun

 

Guardianship Training will be held May 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center. This daylong program features numerous speakers and breakout sessions. The cost is $10, which includes lunch. Preregistration is necessary with the ADRC or Probate offices.

 

Transition Services education fairs were held in January and February. The third one will be held at the Health Care Center Chapel on March 30.

 

A Stepping On workshop is planned for this summer.

 

The Healthy Living with Diabetes workshops have been doing well. More workshops will be scheduled.

 

The Alzheimer’s Conference will be held May 20. More information will be provided at the May meeting. Since Ms. Tryon is part of this conference and the ADRC Board was scheduled to meet that day, the next ADRC meeting was rescheduled to May 13.   

 

A listing of calls to the ADRC since 2016 was distributed. AARP Issues in the Budget was shared with members. 

 

Air conditioning and heating is being updated at the Portland Street Annex.

 

Motion (Olm/Skog) to receive the ADRC report and place on file. Motion carried.

6. Future agenda items

Future agenda items include Department of Social Services representatives to present and discuss the ADRC expenses and budget.

 

7. Meeting dates for 2019.

Meetings will be held at 4 p.m. on May 13, July 22, Sept. 23 and Nov. 25.

 

8. Adjournment.
Motion (Olm/Geiger) to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 p.m. Motion carried.
