1. Call meeting to order.

Co-chair Brendan Wood-Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.


2. Approve minutes of the June 3, 2019, meeting.

Motion (Demezas/Winter) to approve the minutes with a revision to change yellow rocket to dame rocket. Motion carried.


3. Remarks by visitors/correspondence.

There was no public comment.


4. Treasurer report.

Brian Kolstad gave the June report.


5. Educational programming.

Kristen Westlake will present a program on nature photography at 6 p.m. on July 17 at UW-Fond du Lac.


6. Grounds manager report.

There was no report.


7. Prairie Fest 2019.

Mr. Kolstad reported that there will be ads for Prairie Fest on electronic billboards in the city and that he looked into food trucks, but liability insurance would be high. He’ll check with Kathy Strong Langolf about catering. John McDowell gave an update on electronic vehicles at the event.


8. Location for community solar project.

Mr. Kolstad and Mr. McDowell suggested using eight acres in the northeast section along Ducharme Parkway; five acres are needed for solar panels. Motion (McDowell/Wood-Taylor) that if the eight acres are used, the committee will ask that the prairie be replaced or there be help with restoration for exchange of the land. Motion carried.


9. Prairie clean-up debrief.

The clean-up went well. Seven people helped.


10. JustServe volunteering debrief.

Dr. David Demezas reported that the volunteering went well and that the group wants to come back to finish the project possibly in July.


11. Future meeting dates.

a. General committee:  There will be no meeting in August. The committee will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9 in Room

AE136 at UW-Fond du Lac.

b. Education/Prairie Fest:  6 p.m., July 15, UW-Fond du Lac, Room AE136.


12. Adjournment.

Motion (Kolstad/McDermott) to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m. Motion carried.
