1. Call meeting to order.

Co-chair Brendan Wood-Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.


2. Approve minutes of the October 7, 2019, meeting.

Motion (McDowell/Paul) to approve the minutes. Motion carried.


3. Remarks by visitors/correspondence.

Tracy McDermott spoke with Boy Scout Joshua. They’ll keep in touch regarding the benches he’ll be working on in the spring for his Eagle Scout project.


4. Treasurer report.

The report was the same as last month.


5. Grounds manager report.

No one was present from Native Niche, LLC to provide a report. Margie Winter wants to be more proactive with prairie burning in the springtime.


6. Educational programming.

  • Michele Keifenheim talked about the Halloween Hike being canceled. The same theme will be used next year.
  • Ms. Winter reported that two people participated in the seed class. One participant was a UW-Oshkosh student who wrote an article about the class for the Titan newspaper.
  • Co-chair Wood-Taylor is reaching out to C.D. Smith about doing a program on establishing a prairie at their new site.
  • Ms. Winter will contact the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes about doing a program on their prairie restoration program.
  • Ms. Winter discussed the wreath and swag class scheduled on Nov. 14. Co-Chair Wood-Taylor would like to do a Facebook Boost for the class.


7. Envision Fond du Lac project ideas.

Ideas included putting a Gottfried Prairie sign on the north side of the property and a map of the area at both ends of

the gravel bike path going north and south.


8. Google calendar.

Co-chair Wood-Taylor created a Google calendar for organization of events and meetings. He mentioned the idea of recruiting college students to be on the committee.


9. Future meeting dates.

a. General committee:  6 p.m., Jan. 6, Room AE136, UW-Oshkosh Fond du Lac Campus.

b. Education subcommittee:  5:30 p.m., Nov. 18, Room AE136, UW-Oshkosh Fond du Lac Campus.


10. Adjournment.

Motion (Keifenheim/McDowell) to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 p.m. Motion carried.
