1. Call meeting to order.

Chair Kaufman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.


2. Approve minutes of the May 6, 2020, meeting.

Motion (Giese/Everson) to approve the minutes. Motion carried.


3. Members of the public who wish to address the committee on specific agenda items must register their requests at this time, with such comments subject to the reasonable control of the committee chair, as set forth in “Robert’s Rules of Order.”

There was no public comment.


4. Rolling Meadows Golf Course.

a. Golf Course Manager David Brandenburg reported that golf course conditions are good. There is a good maintenance crew and a lot of maintenance work is being completed. This includes mowing, cleaning up brush, filling and sodding low spots, and raising sprinkler heads. The clubhouse is fully open with precautions, which include encouraging social distancing, online registration and payment, and extra cleaning and sanitizing. There are no rakes in sand bunkers. Mr. Brandenburg highlighted revenue from his written report. The meeting room is closed due to the mass gathering situations. He will discuss with administration how to proceed with rentals. A few events are scheduled.


5. Land Information.

a. Update on winter ATV riding on the Wild Goose State Trail.

Tim Roher of the Kettle Moraine ATV Association was invited to update the committee on his pursuit of alternate routes on the Wild Goose State Trail. Due to COVID-19 concerns and personal issues, he has not been able to attend municipal meetings or meet with officials to obtain road routes. Other options were discussed. He will report to the committee in August.


b. Presentation by Cedar Corporation regarding the development of the county comprehensive and farmland preservation plans.               

Ken Jaworski and Jeff Kussow of Cedar Corporation provided the plans and phases that will be taken for the county comprehensive plan and farmland preservation plan update.


c. Discussion regarding acquisition of land for conservancy.

Land Information Director Terry Dietzel and County Executive Allen Buechel provided information on potential land located in the town of Taycheedah that could be acquired for use as a conservancy.


d. Department report.

Mr. Dietzel reported that the Riggs splash pad will open Friday, June 5. He gave a Hobbs Woods parking lot and boardwalk update. The Veterans Park fountain is in need of major repair. He is working with the Maintenance Department on costs and a possible plan to get it working this year. He had an update on the county landfill and bringing it into compliance. The Planner 1 position has been filled. Mr. Dietzel gave a presentation on the LiDAR online application and provided information on the office and online services.

6. Future agenda items and meeting date.

Meetings were scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on July 8 and at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 5. August items include 5a and a shoreland zoning amendment, with a shoreland zoning public hearing at 5 p.m.


7. Adjournment.

Motion (Giese/Rickert) to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. Motion carried.
