Tom Schneider, AC Board chairman comments, “Cecilia’s energy and passion for economic and workforce development align extremely well with the needs of this new organization and the people we serve. Her proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders makes her a great fit to lead us into the future. She is a professional of the highest caliber and I am excited for her and her family to become part of our community.”

Cecilia Harry, CEcD, joined the Greater Fremont Development Council and the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership in 2013. She has experience working on capital investment campaigns, strategic planning initiatives, workforce development partnerships, marketing and project management. She recently led the efforts that resulted in Costco selecting Fremont, Nebraska as the preferred location for their first fully integrated poultry processing facility.

According to FCEDC Board chair Jim Eden, “Cecilia’s experience working in a smaller community that is part of a larger regional geography is extremely relevant to the approach Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. will take. She understands how to bring communities together to work toward a common goal.”

Prior to her work in Fremont, Cecilia worked at the Leavenworth County Development Corporation in Leavenworth, Kansas where she grew the organization’s business retention and expansion program to deliver unprecedented value to Leavenworth County businesses. She is a social worker by training and spent several years with the Department of Child Services in the State of Indiana prior to finding her way to economic development. She loves the idea of helping families achieve stability and safety through economic opportunities like skills enhancement and quality jobs with quality wages.

Harry earned her certified economic developer designation in 2015. She currently serves on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), an organization that today has over 5,000 members. She obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Social Work degree in Social and Economic Development at Washington University in St. Louis. She will be moving to Fond du Lac from Fremont with her husband, Andrew and son, Theodore.

Cecilia will begin her role with Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. on July 17.
