HIV Program

The Fond du Lac County Health Department offers FREE confidential/anonymous HIV testing. 

You are at risk for HIV infection if you: 

• Have had multiple sexual partners
• Have had sex with a man or woman who has had other sexual partners 
• Have shared needles to inject drugs, or had sex with someone who has
  
  

Testing is done using the Alere Determine Rapid HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab combo test. Test results are available in 20 minutes.

HIV positive clients are referred to PCRS (Partner Counseling and Referral Services) provided through the Health Department. Confidential referrals are made for any services needed for persons with HIV/AIDS to the ARCW (AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin). 

The Health Department assists persons infected with HIV to notify their partners, and can assist partners with confidential testing and counseling, assess their medical needs, and link partners to available resources to reduce the spread of HIV.
