POWTS On-line Maintenance Reporting
The Code Enforcement Office administers the Floodplain Zoning Ordinance, Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (POWTS) Ordinance, Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, the Automobile, Tire and Junk Ordinance, Prevention and Control Ordinance, and the Non-Metallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance. Two ordinances were adopted in 2009, the "Private Water System Ordinance" and the "Illicit Discharge Ordinance". The Private Water System Ordinance enforces the proper abandonment of wells no longer in use or are not code compliant with State Statutes. The Illicit Discharge Ordinance regulates the non-storm water discharges into the municipal separate storm sewer system(MS4).
The Floodplain, POWTS, Shoreland Ordinance, and the Non-Metallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance are State mandated ordinances. These ordinances are primarily administered at the County level with uniform administration throughout the State of Wisconsin. The Automobile, Tire and Junk Ordinance is a locally adopted ordinance enforced with the cooperation of local townships.
Floodplain maps were revised county wide and adopted on November 4, 2009. The Floodplain Ordinance was also revised to reflect the new mapping and was adopted on November 4, 2009 as well. Further information about the current maps and ordinance can be found on the Floodplain web page.
POWTS Maintenance Reporting allows the public the ability to search for their sanitary system information and previously reported maintenance. System information can be searched by property address, owner last name, permit number, and original owner name.
