PRESUMPTIVE LIST
- Imprisoned for any length of time, and disability at least 10% disabling:
- Psychosis
- Any of the anxiety states
- Dysthymic Disorder
- Organic residuals of frostbite
- Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis
- Heart Disease or Hypertensive Vascular Disease and their complications
- Stroke and its complications
- Imprisoned for at least 30 days, and disability at least 10% disabling:
- Avitaminosis
- Beriberi
- Cirrhosis of the liver
- Chronic dysentery
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Helminthiasis
- Malnutrition, including associated Optic Atrophy
- Other nutritional deficiencies
- Pallagra
- Peptic Ulcer Disease
- Peripheral Neuropathy
VIETNAM VETERANS
(EXPOSURE TO AGENT ORANGE)
PRESUMPTIVE LIST
Served between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 in the Republic of Vietnam or Aboard a U.S. Military vessel that operated in the inland waterways of Vietnam or on a vessel operating not more than 12 nautical miles seaward from the demarcation line of the waters of Vietnam and Cambodia or on a regular perimeter duty on the fenced-in perimeters of a U.S. Army installation in Thailand or a Royal Thai Air Force Base. These bases include U-Tapao, Ubon, Nakhon Phanom, Udorn, Takhli, Korat, or Don Muang.
- Acute and Subacute Peripheral Neuropathy*
- AL Amyloidosis
- Chronic B-Cell Leukemia
- Chloracne or other acneiform disease similar to Chloracne*
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
- Diabetes Mellitus type II
- Hodgkin’s Disease
- Ischemic Heart Disease
- Multiple Myeloma
- Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Porphyria Cutanea Tarda*
- Prostate Cancer
- Respiratory Cancers (lung, bronchus, larynx, trachea)
- Soft-tissue Sarcoma (other than osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Kaposi’s sarcoma, or mesothelioma).

- Parkinsonism
- High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)
- Monoclonal Gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS)
*Must become manifested to a degree of 10% or more within a year after the last date on which the veteran was exposed to an herbicide agent during active military, naval or air service.
ATOMIC VETERANS
(EXPOSED TO IONIZING RADIATION)
PRESUMPTIVE LIST
Participated in atmospheric nuclear testing; occupied or was a POW in Hiroshima or Nagasaki; service before 2/1/92 at a diffusion plant in Paducah, KY, Portsmouth, OH, or Oak Ridge, TN; or service before 1/1/74 at Amchitka Island, AK
- All forms of leukemia (except for chronic lymphocytic leukemia)
- Cancer of the thyroid, breast, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, pancreas, bile ducts, gall bladder, salivary gland, urinary tract (kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, urinary bladder and urethra), brain, bone, lung, colon, ovary.
- Bronchioloalveolar Carcinoma.
- Multiple Myeloma
- Lymphomas (other than Hodgkin’s disease)
- Primary Liver Cancer (except if cirrhosis or hepatitis B is indicated)
GULF WAR VETERANS (UNDIAGNOSED ILLNESS)
Served in the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations during Gulf War with condition at least 10% disabling by 12/31/2021. Included are medically unexplained chronic multi-symptom illness defined by a cluster of signs or symptoms that have existed for six months or more, such as:
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
- Asthma
- Chronic Rhinitis
- Chronic Sinusitis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Constrictive Bronchiolitis or Obliterative Bronchiolitis
- Emphysema
- Granulomatous Disease
- Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)
- Plueritis
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Sarcoidosis
- Myobacterium Tuberculosis
- Visceral Leishmaniasis
- Brucellosis*
- Campylobacter Jejuni*
- Coxiella Burnetii (Q fever)*
- Nontyphoid Salmonella*
- Shigella*
- West Nile Virus*
- Malaria (or sooner in some cases)*
- Brain Cancer
- Gastrointestinal Cancer of any type
- Glioblastoma
- Head Cancer of any type
- Kidney Cancer
- Lymphatic Cancer of any type
- Lymphoma of any type
- Melanoma
- Neck Cancer
- Pancreatic Cancer
- Reproductive Cancer of any type
- Respiratory (breathing-related) cancer of any type.
- Any diagnosed or undiagnosed illness that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs determines warrants a presumption of service connection.
Signs or symptoms of an undiagnosed illness include: fatigue, skin symptoms, headaches, muscle pain, join pain, neurological symptoms, respiratory symptoms, sleep disturbance, GI symptoms, cardiovascular symptoms, weight loss, menstrual disorders.
*Illness or Condition was diagnosed within one year of your date of separation.
CAMP LEJUNE VETERANS
(CONTAMINATED WATER)
PRESUMPTIVE LIST
Stationed at/lived on Camp Lejeune for at least 30 days between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987.

- Adult Leukemia
- Aplastic anemia and other Myelodysplastic Syndrome
- Bladder Cancer
- Kidney Cancer
- Liver Cancer
- Multiple Myeloma
- Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
- Parkinson’s Disease
The presumption applies to active duty, reserve, and National Guard members exposed to contaminants in the water supply at Camp Lejeune.
