Recreation Trails
Fond du Lac County maintains 6 recreational trails which total approximately 50 miles providing opportunities for hiking, bicycling, walking, nature watching, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. One of the overall goals of the County’s trail program is to interconnect these linear recreation facilities with parks across the County. The location of these trails and their connection to one another can be viewed on the following County Trail Map. The basis for the maintenance and development of these trail facilities is documented in the county’s adopted Outdoor Recreation and Open Space Plan for Fond du Lac County 2020-2024.
Electronic Bicycles (E-Bikes)
Electronic bicycles are allowed at all recreational trail facilities following the guidelines as defined in 2019 Wisconsin Act 34, Section 4. An e-bike has to have fully operable, human-powered pedals, a motor no larger than 750 watts, and can travel no more than 20 MPH on motor power alone. Electric motorcycles (e-motos) and mopeds are not allowed.
