What is property fraud?

When someone illegally uses your name on records related to your property for financial gain or acquisition of your assets.

What are the alert options and what's new?
You have two options with the newly updated Land Notification program.

Option 1:  If you created alerts in the previous version of this program and are happy continuing to receive alerts only to the emails you provided, then no changes are necessary on your part.  Email addresses and alerts have been migrated from the previous system.

Option 2: If you want to sign up for text alerts or update email addresses, please create an account in the new system.

Is there a fee for this service?
Land Notification is a free service provided by the County.  You only need to sign up.

What if I own real estate in other counties?
Many counties in Wisconsin and across the United States offer Land Notification or some form of property fraud monitoring service.  See here for other Notification systems across Wisconsin or contact the Register of Deeds in the county where you own property.

Any questions regarding Land Notification alerts should be directed to the Fond du Lac County Register of Deeds Office at 920-929-3018.
